Since the proposed city of LaVista Hills and the proposed city of Tucker have not been able to come to an agreement on city boundaries, a House legislative panel of 5 members will set the borders. Also under consideration are the borders of an area to be considered for annexation into the City of Atlanta. LaVista Park is currently in BOTH proposed maps, LaVista Hills and Atlanta. We cannot, of course, stay in both maps, and this committee is charged with drawing the map for consideration by the full House Governmental Affairs Committee. As chair of this panel, Rep. Buzz Brockway has scheduled a public meeting for Wednesday Dec 3, 1-2:30pm and invited the community to attend.
You are also invited to give public comment. This is an important opportunity for you to voice which city you desire to live in and why!
Please plan to arrive early to allow for parking.
The panel’s sole charge will be to produce a boundary map no later than December 31 by majority vote of the panel.
